Prospecting work in the exploration of minerals, such as geological surveys, geophysical prospecting, geo -chemical prospecting and test drilling, mine development work such as mine opening, drilling and earth removing and other work directly related to mining are included in this Major group. Establishments engaged in excavating a wide variety o f minerals are classified according to the minerals that are the principal objectives of these activities. Establishments engaged in producing pyrophyllite (agalmatolite) clay and potters' stone clay are also in this Major group as well.
